Ginger Beef

1/2kg Fillet or rump steak, sliced with the grain into thin strips
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
2 tablespoons of cornflour ( cornstarch )
500ml sesame oil
25g Fresh root ginger, peeled and finely chopped
2 tablespoon of chopped spring onions ( scallions )
Method :
Put the beef stripes in a shallow bowl. Rub them with salt, pepper, ginger and corn flour ( cornstarch ) and set aside for 10 minutes.
Heat the oil in a frying-pan. Add the root ginger and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add the beef strips and stir-fry for 3 to 5 minutes, or until they are cooked enough.
Transfer the strips to a warmed serving dish and sprinkle over the spring onions ( scallions ).
