Asian Delicious Seafood

Seafood is the most delicious food consumed in Asia , furthermore if it is fresh. For this reason we must choose a fresh fish from wet markets or shops, the reason behind this is because most of the shops will store the fish for few days before they sell it in the market. To buy fresh sea items, for example fish, crabs and cuttlefish, what Asian people usually do is choose carefully and avoid buying it in the evening.

There are variety of seafood, which we can have it fresh and we can learn the best way to choose this sea creatures. In this page we will share some of the best way to choose fresh sea items. This because fresh sea items produce better results and provide consumer with delicious food when it cooked. On the other hand spoiled sea item will distort our cooking.

The best way to identify the freshness of sea lives :

Cuttlefish
By touching cuttlefish we will find out its freshness, if the cuttlefish is soft and there is a change of color in the skin and fishy, this indicates that the cuttlefish is not fresh anymore. Fresh cuttlefish is when the skin is slightly harder and look fresh.

Prawns
For prawns we must look at the shell, fresh prawns are harder and red in color and not softer, another way to identify its freshness is by looking at the head, look whether the head is still intact with the body or not. Normally for fresh prawns the head will intact with the body, if not we can identify from the smell.

Cockle
To identify whether cockle is fresh or not, is by looking at the shell, whether the shell is open or close. If it is open then we can identify that it is not fresh anymore or it is already dead.

Crab
It is the most easiest item to check its freshness. Just smell the crab and if it smells then it is not fresh anymore, another way is to touch its claw, if it moves then it is still fresh.

Therefore if you can identify fresh sea items, you will find it easy to cook delicious, quality and nutritious food.
