Green Beans in Sesame Dressing

Ingredients :
170g fresh or frozen green beans, tops and tails removed
11/2 - 2 tablespoons sesame paste
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sake
1 teaspoon rice vinegar 1/4 teaspoon dashi powder dissolved in 1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon white miso paste
Method :
Blanch green beans in a medium saucepan with 2 cups boiling salted water for 3-5 minutes or until just tender and bright green color. Immediately plunge into ice cold water until cold, then drain well.
Combine sesame paste, sugar, soy sauce, sake, vinegar, dashi and miso paste in a large bowl and toss beans through mixture. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes : Japanese sesame paste is made from toasted sesame seeds that are crushed to make a butter. Substitute with tahini or freshly ground toasted sesame seeds.
